Bharat Bansal

Bharat Bansal is a climate advocate and youth engagement practitioner, currently working as a Community Manager at Reap Benefit and has spent eight years facilitating  over 100+ learning experiences, engaging more than 2,500 young people across India in climate action and building essential 21st-century skills.

As an NYCC Climate Champion from Punjab, Bharat has pioneered inclusive climate action under his project : Saanjhi Zimmedari, by engaging diverse stakeholders, from sanitation workers to students at several institutions mobilising 190+ youth and engaging 250+ residents through inclusive, community-driven initiatives. His hands-on initiatives, including garbage spot transformations and experiential learning spaces, have reframed waste management as a collective responsibility. He was also recognised as a Green Guardian from Punjab for his work as a Climate Champion and a climate action advocate. 

His work focuses on enabling young people to take ownership of local civic and environmental challenges through participatory and action-driven approaches. Bharat continues to shift waste management narratives, foster leadership, and promote long-term, collective climate responsibility, that is Saanjhi Zimmedari.
