Hina Saifi

Hina Saifi is a UN-recognized Climate Leader driving community-led climate action in Uttar Pradesh. Through her Suraj se Samriddh campaign, she played a key role in the designation of 20 municipalities, including Meerut, as Solar Cities - bridging grassroots needs with government policy.

While representing herself as an NYCC Climate Champion from Uttar Pradesh, her journey from overcoming educational barriers to mobilizing thousands reflects her commitment to inclusive, bottom-up advocacy. As a UNICEF Youth Leader and NYCC Climate Champion, she represented India at COP29 in Baku, engaging with global stakeholders and strengthening climate advocacy efforts.

Hina has mobilized over 1,750 people and engaged 2,260+ youth through climate education, Panchayat dialogues, and clean energy awareness, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment and community resilience. She is a recipient of the IOTY Climate Champion Award and CNN-News18 Indian of the Year 2024.

She currently leads initiatives in Meerut through the Earth Buddy Charitable Trust, promoting climate education, kitchen gardens, and youth leadership in rural communities.
