Mohsin Javid

Mohsin Javid is a wildlife ecologist and Ph.D. candidate at Aligarh Muslim University, specializing in Forestry and Wildlife Sciences. His work spans advanced research techniques such as satellite tagging and micro-histological analysis, contributing to rigorous wildlife monitoring and population studies in collaboration with national institutes.

In the ecologically sensitive regions of Gurez and greater Kashmir, Mohsin has bridged scientific research with community-based conservation, as an NYCC Climate Champion from Jannu & Kashmir. He has led training programs for forest officials and local communities on human-wildlife conflict mitigation, promoting early warning systems and coexistence practices. His efforts extend to training hundreds of youth in birdwatching and nature guiding, creating pathways for sustainable, nature-based livelihoods.

Through climate literacy sessions in schools and community outreach, Mohsin connects ecological conservation with everyday realities, helping local stakeholders recognize the value of protecting their natural heritage. By integrating science, education, and livelihood generation, he is building a model for conservation that is both locally rooted and scientifically robust.
