Roshni Perween

Roshni Perween is a UN-recognized activist and survivor-leader who has transformed her lived experience of child marriage and domestic violence into a powerful force for social justice. As co-founder of the Janta Express Welfare Foundation, she has spent over seven years preventing child marriages, rescuing girls from trafficking, and supporting survivors impacting thousands of lives across Bihar.

Her work focuses on restoring dignity and opportunity, including her vision to establish a rehabilitation center for vulnerable women and children. Through her leadership, she has helped reconnect children to education and provided critical support to survivors of violence.

Roshni expanded her impact as an NYCC Climate Champion through a Flood Management and Awareness Campaign, reaching over 2,000 people in disaster-prone areas. She also trained 50+ youth in leadership and emergency response, strengthening community preparedness and resilience.

A 2023 UN Youth Activist Award winner, Roshni continues to build safer, more empowered communities from the ground up by combining social justice with climate action.
