Ananya Rana is a youth researcher working at the intersection of climate justice, water, sanitation, and inclusive urban resilience. With a background in economics and systems thinking, she brings a policy-oriented lens to understanding how climate impacts intersect with public health and access in urban spaces.
She led Flow Forward in Chandigarh, focusing on the nexus of climate change, WASH, and everyday urban life. She mobilized over 340 students and citizens through public dialogues, school sessions, and community engagements, translating complex concepts into accessible, people-centered conversations. Her work brought young people into public-facing spaces such as Sukhna Lake to engage citizens on water conservation, hygiene, and sustainable practices, while also strengthening youth confidence in climate advocacy.
Ananya’s work is highly collaborative, engaging stakeholders such as the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh, Panjab University, and local NGOs. By bridging academic frameworks with on-ground action, she is strengthening youth-led climate advocacy and contributing to more inclusive, resilient urban systems.
