Aparna Gautam

Aparna Gautam is an Environmental Consultant with a Master’s in Environmental Studies from Panjab University and a Bachelor’s in Forestry from Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, working to protect the sacred Beas River and its tributaries.

With experience at GIZ and the G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, her work bridges science and community action, focusing on microplastic pollution, waste management, and riverine ecosystems. She has also represented her work at the 9th APAN Forum in Thailand.

Through her initiative on plastic and solid waste pollution in Himalayan water bodies, she has mobilized over 345 youth in the Kullu–Manali region, using tools like plastic leakage mapping and water audits to link everyday waste practices with river health and ecosystem degradation.

Currently a Project Manager at Srijanshil GSDGs Pvt. Ltd., she coordinates operations and compliance across 10+ sites, manages documentation for emergency response, and works closely with field teams and authorities for on-ground execution.
