Deepti Tomar

Deepti Tomar, born and raised on the banks of the sacred Narmada, is a journalist, social worker, and compelling public speaker who has addressed over three lakh people, inspiring action on social and environmental issues. With a Master’s in Journalism, she has worked extensively with tribal communities in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, reflecting a strong commitment to grassroots development and inclusive change, along with being a Sewa International Fellow.

She led Narmada Netrutva Abhiyan as an NYCC Climate Champion from Madhya Pradesh, mobilising over 600+ community members by centring adolescent girls and women in river conservation. Through awareness sessions, culturally rooted street theatre, and cleanliness drives at key sites like Nemawar during Amavasya, she translated climate issues into locally resonant narratives and embedded environmental responsibility within religious practices.

Currently, Deepti works as a Project Manager with Keshavsrushti Gram Vikas Yojana and also leads her own initiative, Unnipath Foundation. She continues to advance community-driven conservation of Maa Narmada by strengthening youth and women’s leadership in awareness, cleanliness, and sustainable action.
