Moirangthem Bidyasagar Singh

Bidyasagar Moirangthem is a trauma-informed arts and peer support practitioner working with conflict-affected and marginalized communities in Manipur. As a frontline facilitator, he led WAKHONG, a listening circle initiative for marginalized and vulnerable individuals affected by armed conflict, including children, women, youth, LGBTQ and adults. The initiative used creative, therapeutic approaches to support psychosocial well-being and community connection. During his NYCC Climate Champions Fellowship, he led the EMA Manipur Green Resilience Initiative in Bishnupur District, integrating art-based approaches with climate action. Mobilizing 300 youth and community members, he conducted climate literacy sessions, youth dialogues, and led a major Loktak Lake clean-up removing over 5.5 metric tonnes of waste. He collaborated and engaged with the Moirang Municipal Council and the Directorate of Environment & Climate Change, Manipur to strengthen youth–government partnerships for ecosystem restoration and waste management. Bidyasagar is a certified arts practitioner, having completed the one-year Arts Practices for Inclusion Course by Snehadhara Foundation, Bengaluru. He currently works at Matai Society, where he is working to formally establish the Bishnupur Youth Climate Network to sustain and scale youth-led climate resilience efforts in the region.
