Shubham, with a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and a Master’s in Environmental Science, brings together strong academic grounding and hands-on field experience in agroforestry, ecotourism, and climate research. As the co-founder of YFN India Foundation, he has built a network of over 1,000 young people across Maharashtra, advancing conservation education and community awareness. His work includes conducting lifestyle carbon footprint studies and promoting rural development through natural farming and agroforestry practices.
Shubham focused on Empowering Rural Youth and Reducing Migration through Green Skills Development in the Konkan region, under his NYCC Project, where he focused on building practical green skills in natural farming, agroforestry, and climate-smart agriculture. Through workshops, village-level trainings in Palwani and Veral, plantation drives, and a Food Forest workshop, he introduced sustainable livelihood pathways rooted in ecological restoration. His approach also connected youth to climate finance opportunities and institutional support systems, making green skills both viable and scalable.
Shubham continues this work as Senior Manager (Horticulture) at Farmers for Forests (F4F) and as a Sweccha Influence India Fellow, further advancing green skilling and community-led sustainability.
