Upadhyay Jay Sanjaykumar

Jay is an agriculture innovator and researcher working at the intersection of technology and sustainable farming. With a background in Agriculture Analytics and hands-on experience in GIS, remote sensing, and precision farming, he has worked closely with farmers across Sabarkantha, Gujarat to understand on-ground agricultural challenges and climate impacts.

During his tenure as an NYCC Climate Champion, his work focused on bridging traditional farming with data-driven solutions through training on soil health, remote sensing, and climate-smart practices. A key outcome was the development of FarmSaarthi, an automated platform that provides farmers with real-time insights on crop health, soil moisture, pest risks, and irrigation through simple geo-tagging. Supported by pilot testing with 100+ farmers and on-ground interventions like drone services and soil testing, his initiative demonstrated how technology can enable resource-efficient and climate-resilient agriculture.

He continues to scale FarmSaarthi with support from the Government of Gujarat’s Student Startup and Innovation Policy, advancing accessible agri-tech solutions for farmers.
