Divanshi, hailing from Jind, Haryana, is the founder of Project Namu, a community-based sustainability awareness initiative, who believes climate action begins with conscious awareness. For her, conscious awareness leads to realization, and realization gives people the ability to question not only the systems around them but also their own everyday actions as members of society. A Chemistry (Honours) graduate from Panjab University, she is an incoming distance-learning MA Human Rights student at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London, supported by the Yusuf Ali Scholarship. Through grassroots campaigns, climate fellowships, and community initiatives, she has worked to encourage youth participation, climate awareness, and sustainable practices.
In her NYCC Project Mahira, Divanshi aims to implement three practical household interventions in Jind: converting used cooking oil into usable soap, introducing a simple two-container waste separation system for composting, and teaching how to repurpose broken household materials into functional items. She hopes to help more people develop that same conscious awareness so that environmental responsibility becomes a shared commitment reflected in everyday action.
