Krishnaprasad V S is a development sector professional from Kerala currently serving as State Project Coordinator at the Directorate of Samoohika Sannadhasena, Government of Kerala. His work focuses on strengthening community resilience through youth volunteer engagement, disaster preparedness, and community-led initiatives across the state.
With an academic background in Development Studies, Krishnaprasad has extensive experience in public sanitation, WASH, waste management, menstrual hygiene, and community engagement. During his tenure with Haritha Keralam Mission, he coordinated statewide initiatives on menstrual hygiene, including menstrual cup promotion and the installation of sanitary incinerators. He continues to be passionate about advancing equitable access to sanitation and menstrual health through sustainable and community-driven approaches.
Through his NYCC project, "Climate-Responsive Public Sanitation: WASH Innovation at Vyttila Mobility Hub, Kochi," he aims to improve the accessibility, usability, and sustainability of public sanitation facilities in urban transit spaces, particularly for women. The project will involve field research, stakeholder engagement, youth-led awareness campaigns, and the development of a practical, scalable model for climate-responsive public toilets in partnership with local governments.
