Sangam Kumari

Sangam Kumari is a final-year undergraduate student from Simultala, Jamui, Bihar, and a dedicated community worker. Currently coordinating Eco-Club and Youth Fellowship programs with the WILD organization, she brings experience from her previous roles as a Youth Lead with Anantmool and as a fellow with the Goonj Grassroots Fellowship. Over the past several years, Sangam has been actively engaging with rural children and youth on environmental issues, including initiatives to promote traditional crops like Ragi and agroforestry practices. Her current work focuses on fostering environmental awareness and leadership capacity among children by creating dedicated youth leadership via Eco-Clubs.

In her NYCC project, "Green Guardians Champions," Sangam aims to connect children with local environmental challenges and their solutions. Through her 6-week programmes under the Eco-Club framework, she seeks to empower students to take initiative, make informed decisions, and lead practical environmental projects such as establishing kitchen gardens and implementing waste management systems.
