Shubhangani Suryavanshi

Shubhangani is a multidisciplinary storyteller and researcher from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, dedicated to documenting the vibrant intersections of nature, culture, and community. Currently a fellow with Green Hub Central India, she specializes in creating documentary films on wildlife conservation, education, and biodiversity. Her professional journey, which includes six years of grassroots work in Rajasthan with organizations like the Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti, School for Democracy, SafetyPin, and Point of View, has focused on youth leadership, digital empowerment, and community advocacy. A skilled writer, photographer, and videographer, she is committed to amplifying unheard local stories to drive social and environmental change, aspiring to build a more equitable society through informed, community-led initiatives.

For her NYCC project, "Bhara Hai Par Khara Nahi" (Water Project), Shubhangani focuses on addressing water scarcity and quality issues in her home village. She plans to empower local youth by teaching them mobile videography to document the challenges facing existing water bodies, such as drying wells and ponds. By facilitating collaboration between local youth and the panchayat, she aims to implement practical, community-driven water conservation measures.
